BrewDog bites back at Borough

13.11.2008

With all the doom and gloom that's been bandied around about beer this year, lovebeer@borough has joined forces with one of the country's most innovative and edgy brewers - BrewDog - to make people wake up and smell the malt.

Beer's Back Baby!

Recent figures released by the Society of Independent Brewers prove that top quality artisan beer producers, like BrewDog, are seeing a growth in sales whilst boring, bland commodity beers are rapidly declining - so why not come and see what all the fuss about artisan beers is all about?

lovebeer@borough and top Scottish beer producer BrewDog have joined forces for a day of tastings on November 29 to launch BrewDog week at the award-winning Rake bar in Borough Market.

BrewDog is well known in beer-loving circles for producing some of the most innovative and exciting beers around - and have even been featured on widely-watched shows such as Gordon Ramsay's F-Word and Market Kitchen.

Beers on offer will include such incredible concoctions as Zephyr - a 13% India Pale Ale (IPA) that has been in a grain whisky cask for 18 months with 30 kgs of fresh strawberries - and a currently un-named beer created from a 10% Imperial Stout aged in a Smokehead whisky cask with 25kgs of fresh raspberries.

But, don't be scared, we'll only be serving them in sensible tasting measures - alongside a selection of other BrewDog beers such as the much-loved Punk IPA, Hop Rocker, The Physics and Rip Tide.

Commenting on the event leading beer writer and partner in lovebeer@borough Melissa Cole says: "BrewDog is quite simply one of the most innovative and exciting breweries at work in the UK today, and we are delighted to be kicking off our series of meet the brewer and tasting events with such leading beer lights.

"With only 20 tickets available for each tasting session with Martin & James from BrewDog we are expecting demand to be high and urge people to buy tickets from the bar at the Rake or the Utobeer stall on Borough Market soon to avoid disappointment."

The address for the Rake and lovebeer@borough is: 14 Winchester Walk, London, SE1 9AG and the telephone number is 020 7378 9461, www.lovebeeratborough.ning.com .
